What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect information about you during uploading documents, language class booking and checkout processes on our site. This includes personal data, such as name, e-mail address, phone number, personal account preferences and transactional data, such as purchase information. Uploaded documents (for requesting translation, proofreading and editing services) will only be used for carrying out the service you have booked with us. The original and translated/proofread/edited document will be stored for a year with the purpose to support you later on and send you the document again (in case you need it again and request another copy). 

When you book a service with us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, e-mail address, phone number and credit card/payment details. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your requests, orders and booked services
  • Communicate with you about your booked services
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have
  • Improve our site’s offerings
  • Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

 

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 5 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, e-mail address and billing address.

Who on our team has access

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Site Managers can access:

Order information like what was purchased (which type of course or service) and when it was purchased, and customer information like your name, e-mail address, and billing information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds, and support you.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

When you submit a message through the contact form the following information will be stored: your full name, e-mail address, the chosen subject of the message as well as your comment/message itself. Contact form submissions will be kept for a year for customer service purposes only. The information submitted through the contact form will not be used for marketing purposes.
