    School, Job or Career Opportunity

It is quite common in this case that you might not want to learn a language but rather have to for school or a job.

    Tipp:

    • Try to see it as an opportunity to widen your horizon.
    • Learn for yourself and not for your teacher or boss. Lanuage learning is so much easier and more effective if you see a personal benefit in it.
    • Make it a passion rather than a duty by including fun parts: Read books, listen to music, get cultural info and start loving the language

    Just for fun

It will be even more fun if you include reading books, watching movies or playing games in the language.

    Traveling

Such a great feeling when you are abroad and can understand people or even talk to them. Learning the local language helps understanding the culture and deepens your travel experience. Learn at least some basic sentences and you’ll hit it off with the locals!

    I move abroad

That is so exciting! You’ll soon be able to order food in the local language, understand people on the streets and make friends in your new home country!

    For a partner/friend/family

Make sure you talk a lot with your partner/friend/family. It is so good to have somebody close who speaks the language. Also, be patient when misunderstandings happen, you don’t know a word or they correct you. It is all part of the process 🙂
